MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre) is an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) with a mandate that realises the aspirations of the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 and contributes to the evolution of Malaysia into an entrepreneurial nation.

MaGIC enables and supports the sustainable growth of entrepreneurship in Malaysia. They help entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey by collaborating with other government agencies, industries and stakeholders.

The Social Enterprise Academy provides practical learning programmes that support people developing and growing social enterprises. Programs include Leadership skills & Setting up Enterprise

The British Council’s Global Social Enterprise programme draws on the UK’s expertise to support the development of social enterprise and social investment in the UK and other countries and share best practices and create opportunities between them.


Companies Act 1965 (Amendment) 2016 – The Act facilitates the setting up of both private companies limited by shares and companies limited by guarantee

Societies Act 1966 (Amendment) 2006 – The Act governs the setting up of societies in Malaysia, including non-profts and NGOs

Accreditation and Tax benefits for Social Enterprise

The Social Enterprise Accreditation (SE.A) is a national certification by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED) recognising legitimate social enterprises. SE.A status grants you eligibility to apply to be considered by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) under Section 44(11C) Income Tax Act 1967 to provide tax deduction receipts to donors.
